For:
Antitussive, alternative, expectorant, demulcent
Clears phlegm heat; good for many kinds of coughs, especially chronic cough and those caused by yin deficiency, in which there may be difficulty expectorating or unproductive coughs with patterns of constrained qi. This herb can be used internally and externally for swollen glands and other nodular swellings and abscesses in the lungs or breasts.

| Dosage:
3-9 grams; 1-2 grams when taken as a powder.
|
| Safety:
Fritillaria is ineffective for coughs caused by cold dampness.
CAUTION: The raw unprocessed herb is toxic and should not be taken internally.
